How long have you worked at Sandland Packaging?

16 happy years 😊

Where did you work before?

I worked for a smaller packaging company and also doing construction on Wembley Stadium. (so if you ever eat in Wembley, there is a good chance I helped install the extractors for the kitchens.)

How did you find Sandland Packaging when you first joined?

First impressions were that Sandland had better automated machinery at a higher capacity than my previous packaging company…meaning selling would be easy here.

What is the best thing about working at Sandland Packaging?

That hard work is rewarded, the most successful people at Sandland are the ones who have worked, learned and progressed the most within the business. Every Director in Sandland at one point was employed in a smaller role and has worked their way up through the business.

How has your career progressed?

Sales Rep, Sales Manager, Sales Director, Share Holder & Board of Directors – so yeah, it is going pretty good.

What kind of music genre do you like?

A real blend of everything, my playlists are completely random. If I look now at my “last listened” it goes: “Bring Me The Horizon”, to Phil Collins, to Enter Shikari, to The Twang. You find the link 😊

What are your interests?

Outside of work its mostly American Football, I play for Shropshire and coach multiple youth programs including Great Britain U15 Flag.

How do you cope with pressure?

Work and sports have different pressures, work I must be calmer in the face of pressure, in sports coaching I can be a little vocal in my approach to pressure, but generally I would say I am pretty solid when the plan goes sidewards.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?

Hard work beats talent if talent doesn’t work hard!

What’s something you’re planning on doing in the next year that you’ve never done?

Snowboarding in Andorra (snowboarded previously but not in Andorra)

What was the worst job you ever had?

Plucking Turkeys at Christmas once…dreadful job haha
