How long have you worked at Sandland Packaging?

18 months

Where did you work before?

Jaffabox from 1978, a family business founded by my father, Frank Amyes. I joined straight from school and worked there until 2023.

How did you find Sandland Packaging when you first joined?

Professional, friendly and supportive. I settled in straightaway.

What is the best thing about working at Sandland Packaging?

Having the freedom to focus on selling, with the reassurance that support is always there when needed.

How has your career progressed?

From when I left school, I started out doing every job in the factory – sweeping up, stacking pallets, driving the forklift, delivering orders, setting up machines and answering phones. From there, I moved into the office and into sales where I’ve built my career ever since.

What kind of music genre do you like?

My mom introduced me to music and reading. Everything from The Beach Boys and The Beatles to classical music, and books like The Godfather when it was first published. Thank you, Mom!

Coffee or Tea? Milk in first or last?

Either and milk first for both.

What are your interests?

I’m a keen club runner and regularly enter races.

How do you cope with pressure?

By being honest about the situation.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?

The business comes first.

What’s something you’re planning on doing in the next year that you’ve never done?

If I can secure a place, I’d like to run the Vertical Kilometre in Chamonix in June 2026. It’s limited to around 700 runners.

What was the worst job you ever had?

I’ve never had a worst job, each one taught me something.
