This year, one of our team, Matt Hall, will be taking part in Run Alton Towers to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity. This is very personal to Matt – he will be running the event with his two sons as a thank you for the treatment and care their daughter and sister, Amelia, seven, received when it was discovered she had a hole in her heart.
Support for Birmingham Children’s Hospital
Amelia had treatment at Birmingham Children’s Hospital after she needed open heart surgery earlier this year. She made a full recovery and Matt was so impressed with the quality of care that he wanted to do something in return. He will be running the 10k race while his sons will be participating in the kids’ race.
So far the family have raised over £1,000, with £300 of that being raised in just one week through donations from Matthew’s supportive colleagues at Sandland Packaging.
