Wearing it Green for Mental Health 2025

At Sandland Packaging, we believe that mental health matters just as much as physical health. As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting emotional wellbeing, we proudly participated once again in Wear It Green Day – a national initiative helping to raise awareness during Mental Health Awareness Week.

What is Wear It Green Day?

Wear It Green Day is an initiative by the Mental Health Foundation encouraging people and workplaces to wear green and raise funds to support better mental health. It’s a simple but powerful way to show solidarity and spark conversations that could save lives.

About Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 (13–18 May) is focused on tackling the stigma around mental health and encouraging people to speak openly. This year’s theme, “Community” highlights how being part of a safe, positive community is vital for our mental health and wellbeing. We thrive when we have strong connections with other people and supportive communities that remind us, we are not alone. Communities can provide a sense of belonging, safety, support in hard times, and give us a sense purpose.

Why We Wear It Green

On Wear It Green Day, our entire team at Sandland Packaging came together, proudly wearing green to show our support. We also raised funds to help the Mental Health Foundation continue its vital work. But more importantly, we wore green to let everybody know that we are together and support each other, and to let people know it is okay to talk – because we know the power of speaking up.

Upskilling our staff on Mental Health First Aid

Staff members Gordon Green and Evelina Klimanskiene have successfully completed their Level 2 Award in Adult Mental Health. This is a Workplace Responder Qualification to foster a safer, more supportive work environment. By equipping staff like Gordon and Eve with the knowledge and skills to recognise and respond to mental health issues, we are prioritising the wellbeing of our team.

This qualification enables them to offer immediate support and guidance, helping to reduce stigma and ensure colleagues feel heard and supported. It’s an important step toward creating a more compassionate and resilient workplace culture.

We Do This Every Year

This isn’t a one-off. We participate in Wear It Green Day every year because we recognise how important it is to normalise mental health conversations in the workplace and beyond. At Sandland, we believe talking saves lives – and everyone should feel safe, seen, and supported.
